Motorola needed a brand refresh after being acquired by Google. We were here to help!
Transforming a Legacy Brand with Scalable Creativity
Following its acquisition by Google, Motorola needed a brand refresh that felt personal, modern, and adaptable across global markets. The solution: a scalable system of “doodles” celebrating everyday life—architecture, fashion, food, culture, and community—designed to flex across print, digital, and outdoor channels.
As Producer and Art Buyer, I played a central role in bringing this creative system to life by managing the art development, talent partnerships, and operations behind this vast art library built for global use.
Key Contributions:
• Creative Curation at Scale: I led the sourcing and development of artwork, blending internally created assets with submissions from both a global call for art and a curated set of commissioned illustrators and designers. The goal was to reflect universal human experiences while keeping the work playful & adaptable.
• Talent & Collaboration Leadership: I collaborated with design leads Allie Hughes and Sarah Nguyen, along with illustrators and creators from across the agency and beyond, balancing creative expression with strategic brand alignment.
• Creative Asset Management: Oversaw the creation and delivery of a high-volume, versatile art library by developing streamlined trackers and workflows for over hundreds of assets.
• Art Buying & Clearances: Navigated complex rights management, ensuring all art was legally cleared while preserving artistic integrity.
This project wasn’t just a refresh—it was a global creative system designed to inspire and evolve with the brand.
